Laboratories

Rymel has laboratories for testing electrical equipment, which have suitable spaces, test equipment, and qualified personnel to conduct various tests that ensure the technical characteristics and excellent quality of the equipment. The main laboratory features a special test bench, including an electronic converter, a capacitor bank, and a high-precision analyzer, which are used for measuring no-load losses and load losses in transformers. Additionally, the main laboratory is equipped with suitable portable devices for measuring various electrical parameters, such as winding resistance, insulation resistance, transformation ratio, phase displacement, frequency response curve, temperature rise during operation under load, among others.

Additionally, we have the following laboratories:

  • High voltage laboratory, allowing us to conduct applied potential and induced potential tests up to a level of 100 kV.

  • Lightning impulse laboratory with levels up to 400 kV, where impulse waves are captured using a high-speed digital oscilloscope.

  • Laboratory for measuring transformer noise, which has a soundproof booth and a type A noise meter.

  • Laboratory for measuring partial discharges in electrical equipment, which features a shielded enclosure and a highly sensitive partial discharge meter.

  • Laboratory for accuracy measurement in measuring transformers, equipped with specialized devices to measure accuracy class in both current transformers and voltage transformers.

  • Laboratory for physical-chemical tests of insulating liquid, equipped with specialized tools to measure moisture content, interfacial tension, dielectric strength, and color level in dielectric oil.

Production plant and processes

Rymel has collaborators who participate in training and development programs, aimed at strengthening capabilities in innovation, sustainability, leadership, integral performance, and digital skills. Additionally, we have a physical plant of 41,000 square meters located in the municipality of Copacabana, Antioquia. Today, we have the capability to produce single-phase transformers from 0.5 kVA up to 1,500 kVA and three-phase transformers from 15 kVA up to 10,000 kVA. We also have a manufacturing line for dry transformers of class F and class H, with powers ranging from 1 kVA to 3,000 kVA in series up to 36 kV. Moreover, we manufacture potential and current transformers for measurement applications; we also produce special equipment for the electrical sector according to our clients' needs, such as submersible transformers and maneuver boxes. Additionally, we market conventional energy meters and smart AMI-type meters; and we offer the design and installation service of photovoltaic solar plants.

Winding Area

We are a company dedicated to the design, manufacturing, and marketing of transformers, measuring equipment, and other products for the supply chain of the national and international electrical sector. Supported by integrity, innovation, service, and quality; we aim for sustainability and the well-being of our stakeholders.
